(project for Water Pollution Control in the 13th Five-Year Plan)

In 2017, Zhongguancun Sponge City Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. was selected as the agency responsible for implementing the “Research and demonstration of key technology and management mechanisms for sponge city construction in Beijing: R&D, selection, and assessment of basic equipment and materials for sponge city construction” initiative. This project focuses on the main equipment and materials used in the construction of sponge city and brings together the expertise of domestic and foreign researchers in the investigation, collection, collation, and inspection of equipment and materials. Equipment and materials that are appropriate for the construction of sponge city in the subcenter of Beijing City were obtained and applied in the sponge city demonstration site in Tongzhou District. Uses of equipments and materials were assessed and quantified by using data collected from engineering practices. Assessment report is being used to provide technical support for the construction of sponge city in Beijing City.
